The votes are in!

The 2008 Photo Challenge $2,000 Grand Prize Winner is…

(Drum roll please… )

Ferguson Center for the Arts, by Van White!

2008 Photo Challenge Winner

This is a wonderful shot, full of contrast from dark to light and repetition of form.  Even the man’s bald head adds to the repetition.  And the choice of black and white brings out the contrast and the simplicity of the shot.

Congratulations, Van White!

And in Second Place, winning a copy of our Holiday Photo Guide, a set of AWAI Exclusive Photo Tip Cards, and an AWAI e-bookstore gift certificate for $30:

Daddy’s Gentle Touch, by MissMegan

This shot was one of the staff favorites here in the Travel Division Office, and it’s no surprise to see it among our top three shots.  Well done, MissMegan!

And coming in for a close third place, winning a copy of our Holiday Photo Guide and a set of AWAI Exclusive Photo Tip Cards:

Fishin’ for a Pot O’ Gold, by LindaDeMarre

A stunning shot, even without the tiny fisherman on the rock.  Great catch, LindaDeMarre!

Starting next week, each month will bring you a new theme and a new opportunity to win in the AWAI Photo Challenge.  Submit your best shot, and not only can you win the monthly prize, but if your photo makes the top three that month, you’ll be in the running to win next year’s $2,000 Grand Prize.
