Yesterday we talked about winter and holiday photos on your computer that you can sell as stock right now. But any time the seasons change is a great time to head out and take new photos, too.
In fact, fall is the biggest buying season for stock agencies. Which means that if you haven’t started selling your photos as stock, right now is the absolute perfect time to start tapping into fall photo themes.
So, if you’d like to make some extra cash before winter arrives, get out your camera and look for some of these in-demand stock photo subjects as summer turns to fall:
Back to school. This is a great one to shoot if you have relatives or friends who are going back to school this year, whether it’s elementary school, high school, or even college.
Coffee and tea. Think warm beverages in coffee shops–or shoot right in your own kitchen. This is a great one you can do when it’s still warm and sunny outside.
Weather. As the weather starts to change, look for storm clouds, rain, puddles, or any other inclement weather. This is becoming a big topic all year long, too.
Fall foliage. Of course you’ll have to wait for leaves to change for this one, but be ready to take your camera out on those sunny fall days. Also look for reflections in water and up-close detail shots.
Baking and cooking. This can be a family activity, as in this stock shot, or a detail shot of the perfect pie or loaf of bread coming out of your oven.
If you don’t have much time to take new photos this fall, you can always look back at the photos on your computer to see what you might be able to sell.
